John Weguelin
CEO

In June 2005, John joined the Company as Chief Executive Officer and was appointed to the Board.   John has over 30 years’ banking experience.  Until 2003, he was Managing Director of Bank of America Securities Limited in London, and Chief Operating Officer and Chief Administration Officer of Bank of America NA for Europe, Middle East and Africa .  He has extensive experience of capital markets, treasury and investment banking.

Toby Lanyon
Head of Representative Office

Toby joins EIIB from Nomura Investment Banking in where he was Director, Head of Equity Derivatives Marketing, Middle East, with specific responsibility for business development, marketing of equity, fund, hedge fund and commodity derivative products throughout the Middle East .

Prior to joining Nomura Investment Banking in early 2005, Toby worked for BNP and BNP Paribas in Bahrain from 1996 where he held a number of roles including responsibility for marketing and product development of equity derivative, cross-product business development for institutional and private clients across the GCC as well as pioneering a range of Sharia’a compliant equity derivative products.

M.A. Mohaimin Chowdhury
Head of Legal, Sharia’a and Company Secretary

Mohaimin is a solicitor qualified in and and joined EIIB in June 2005 from Dubai Islamic Bank where he was Legal Advisor. Prior to that, he was Legal Advisor in the Legal and Sharia’a Compliance Department of Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank from October 2000 to July 2004. Mohaimin started his legal career in private practice in London where he worked for 4 years after qualification.

Danie Marx
Managing Director, treasury & Capital Markets 

Prior to joining EIIB Danie was Treasurer and Head of Capital Markets at Absa Bank Limited’s London branch. Until 2000 Danie was tasked with structured solutioning at Absa’s Head Office in Johannesburg, . Before that, Danie was at Standard Bank of South Africa.

Tara McCabe
Head of Human Resources

Tara has approximately 10 years experience in Human Resources, and joins EIIB from the General Council of the Bar, England & Wales where she was the Human Resources Manager for 2 years. Prior to this Tara worked as an HR contractor for 5 years in various start-up and restructure projects in telecommunications, PPI’s, Investment Banking and Asset Management. Originally from Australia, Tara was a Generalist HR Manager and Recruitment Manager.
